Apples....

This past Saturday, we took our annual trip to Lynd's Fruit Farm in Pataskala to pick apples after Ethan's soccer game.  I usually do not care what kind we pick as long as they are sweet and I can bake with them.  We picked some Jonathan and a couple Golden Delicious apples. Of course it takes us 30 minutes to drive there and the kids have their bags full in about 5 minutes!  Then we usually drive over to the market and get my fav...apple bread and some apple butter and strawberry jam for Nana & Nan Kyre!  We do not leave until we sit in the HUGE red chair.  This time we did not go on the hayride or try the maze since the OSU game was on and we wanted to get home.

The Green Team

Ethan had his first soccer game this Wednesday.  He was so excited and of course all of the team could not control their excitement.  Then again, these are 4 and 5 year old kids who just like to kick the ball as much as they can and see where it goes!  It was a hoot watching Ethan's team (lime green shirts) kick the ball out of bounds, trip over it or just grab it with their hands.  With this age, they divide the team up into 2 teams of 3 or 4 each against the other team for about an hour.  They take periodic water breaks or hugs from family members!  Ethan did great!  He is playing again on Saturday morning and will have 2 games a week until mid-October.

So not only am I a "dance mom" but now a "soccer mom".  Not sure I fit the role but I will continue to support my kids in their extracurricular activities (that are approved by Erik and myself) as much as I can!
