Someone turns 6 early!

This year we decided to have Ethan's birthday party early.  He will be 6 on August 2nd but we will be on vacation so hence birthday party on July 20th.  We asked for some addresses from his classmates before school ended.  However due to the summer, many of his friends were on vacation but he had a great turnout!  Ethan wanted Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles as his theme which by the way, was not that easy to find.  Party City only had a few things but Target carried some party items as well after I ordered the invitations online!  I saw a cupcake turtle cake that I wanted to make.  Erik and I decided that we could do it.  With just a picture, Erik took on the task of displaying the cupcakes like a turtle and icing it as well.  He did a great job and I think this maybe his calling...probably not!

It was a rainy day so we decided to do games in our basement.  The kids just loved running around playing balls, balloons and cornhole.  We had pizza and snacks and of course wonderful cupcakes!  The kids were also able to play on the trampoline and swingset when the rain finally stopped.

Ethan received lots of presents and loved being with his friends and family.  I cannot believe we are so lucky to have him!  I never thought we would be able to have a second child and we were graced with this handsome little man.  He amazes me everyday with his charm, humor and just being our little peanut!  His big sis even adores him as well!

Summer Fun...

This summer has been a busy one but so much fun!  The last week in June was our church's VBS.  I volunteer every year to help with the snacks.  It is so much fun and I have been working with the same lady with snacks for 5 years!  However she has moved to Toledo, OH and is passing the snack duty onto me..yay me!  That is sarcasm since it is not easy feeding 230+ kids and volunteers trying to coincide with the scripture each day.  Good thing that their programs have helpful ideas!

Then the last weekend of June, Emma performed in the Westerville 4th Friday in front of her studio and  in The Pride & Spirit of American show for her dance studio.  It honors men & women of the military.  It is a very touching and fun-spirited show.  Emma of course did great and we had a wonderful time!

July is here which means the 4th was upon us!  Emma danced in the Westerville Parade and we had a cookout with my parents afterwards.  Later that night between the rain showers, we watched some fireworks as well.  We have a few sparklers and poppers that we may let off soon since it rained most of the day and night.

Here are some collages of our fun summer so far...more to come later!
