This past Saturday we celebrated Ethan's 7th birthday a little early with some of his friends over to our house. He wanted a Skylander theme so I became creative. Unfortunately the weather did not cooperate some some of our water games did not happen. However I did have 2 games and free play for them!
Six of his friends came over and most were from his school and 1 was my friend Hillori's son who is only 1 grade higher. They played cornhole but it was called Free Ranger Toss and played Countdown Smash which is to sit and smash as many balloons as they can without hands and feet. Then Emma was our face painter and all of the boys wanted mustaches and our only girl got a butterfly! Next was time for pizza, cupcakes and ice cream! I just made birthday cake cupcakes and colored green icing and Erik iced the cupcakes for me and we had Skylander ring cupcake toppers. Finally it was time for gifts and last minute playing in the basement.
His birthday party was 2 weeks early but his actual birthday we will be driving home from HHI, SC. He was okay with that!

Soccer & Swimming
Last week was full of summer sports for Emma & Ethan! We managed to get everywhere on time which is a task with all of their activities! Everyone had a great time too.
Emma has had her last level of swimming lessons these past two weeks. She had some difficult instructors with her learning to do the backstroke with a cup half full of water on her forehead, do laps in many different types of strokes in 12 minutes but she PASSED! Emma has been taking swimming lessons at the Westerville Rec. Center and Highlands Aquatic Center since she was 3 years old...usually just once a year. So now we are done unless she wants to try the swim team or taking diving. Right now she said she wants to concentrate on dancing but will think about it later.
Last week Ethan had a summer soccer camp offered at Westerville Central High School. The high school soccer players teach the kids in different age levels. He was in Heaven and got a popsicle and a sticker each day. He had a lot of fun and even won a water bottle the last day.
The past Saturday we decided to hit the pool and then go to the Westerville Music & Arts Festival. It is a tradition we attend every year. Emma and I love the local artists. Miss Emma loves to draw and paint so she really enjoys the art! It was pretty hot but the kids made some sand art and we had a funnel cake and dippin' dots!

Independence Weekend 2014
This 4th of July was really special for Emma. She won the theme of the Westerville parade! She rode on a float at the parade with her BFF Emily. It was sponsored by the Westerville Rotary Club which she also won $100 for the contest! The girls even got to eat before the parade started and received some goodies! They had so much fun!
Then after the parade we had a cookout with my parents. It is a treat since we do not get to see them that often due to their work schedules.
That evening we decided to watch the Westerville Fireworks. We sat in the Walmart parking lot and actually had a great spot! The kids sat in the back of my SUV and Erik and I sat in chairs in front of them!

On Saturday we went to the pool and had another cookout with Erik's Mom and Grandma! We also had some fireworks of our own as well in our backyard!
