Happy St. Patrick's Day

I love celebrating holidays!  Emma had to dress up early for St. Patty's Day since she had spring picture day today so I took a picture of the kids before school.  They are so used to getting their picture taken that they will pose for me most of the time.

Then I volunteered to make 24 cupcakes for Emma's Girl Scout Troop.  They are celebrating 100 years!  These are confetti cupcake mix with green icing, sprinkles and Lucky Charms on top!  Borrowed this from Pinterest!

I also wanted to make a treat for her class so made the mini version of the cupcakes as well.  Ethan's preschool class celebrated as well but just had some green snacks.  Cute too!

Everyone have a good holiday!  We are celebrating by just hanging out with the kids, going out to eat and meeting some old friends for ice cream!

Dance Competition & Pics

After a long day of driving this past weekend to Youngstown, I find myself sad it was over so fast.  We took the fam and including Erik's Mom to a 3 hour drive to the dance competition and it was a lot of fun.  The group competitions did not start until 3 pm and she did not perform until almost 6 pm.  However it was victory since her group won 1st place!  She was so excited that she got a medal and the studio got a plaque!  They worked really hard on their routine so they deserved it!  Her dance studio won many awards that night for all of their dance routines.  It was a great time by all!

This is a pic right before she performed "Walk Like An Egyptian"!

Dance Competition Bound

This week Emma has been preparing for her 1st dance competition with her dance studio, Generations Performing Arts Center.  She has been taking classes for 3 years now and absolutely LOVES dance.  So this school year, she is now in Step One which is entry-level competition for younger students.  Emma is taking Company Ballet I, Company Jazz I, Step One Jazz (competition) and Tap III.  Her Step One Jazz class has been preparing a dance performance since September.  There are probably 15 girls and 1 boy.  It is a large class but all of them are so excited.  There are dancing to "Walk Like An Egyptian" but the Veggie Tale Version.  Their recital theme at the studio this year is International Dancing so they have many different songs dealing with this theme.  I was able to video tape some of her recital performances along with her competition performance for parent observation week.  Each time I watch Emma dance, I am so proud.  She gets so into her dance and just smiles.  It is really great to watch your child just love an activity so much.  I know it sounds sappy, but I am a proud Mama!  Here are some pics of her practicing in her classes... I could not get the video to upload of her in the competition dance.

Happy Birthday Dr. Seuss!

Ethan is celebrating Dr. Seuss's birthday today at preschool so I decided to make the kids a special treat.  I saw this on Pinterest and loved it.  So I just make it with construction paper and bought some Swedish Fish candy.  Then I found Ethan a Dr. Seuss shirt on Meijer when I was grocery shopping and had to get it.  Ethan loves many of the books but I think his favorites are Go, Dog Go! and One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish and Emma used to love Dr. Seuss's A B C.

Here are pictures of them this morning...Ethan with his shirt and Emma wearing her 3rd grade tie-dyed shirt for an end of the month celebration where the kids can celebrate their good behavior and working hard.
