Spring Break

Well last week was spring break for the kids and me!  Erik had to work most of the week so like the last several years, I planned on a fun "staycation" for the kids.  Erik ended up taking Thursday and Friday off to be with us as well!

Last Sunday we went to the Columbus Museum of Art.  It was free admission and the entire botton floor was for kids to explore and create!  It was great and all FREE!  Emma and Ethan wanted to buy something at the gift shop so postcards and a pencil were the items!  The artwork was beautiful and Emma even got to see a French artist's work!

Monday was a sleep in and playdate day!  Emma went to her friend's house in the afternoon to practice an American Girl dance for the next day and Ethan had his friend Max over.  Nice and relaxing!

Tuesday was busy!  We went to SuperGames for bounce houses and lazer tag.  Ethan met some of his soccer/school friends there and Emma met one of her dance friends too!  Then in the late afternoon Emma and her friend Emily went to American Girl at Easton and were taped dancing to Isabelle's dance jam.  They were entered into a dance contest to be in the music video which will be played in the store.  Too cute!

Wednesday we went spring clothes shopping at Kohl's and Target.  Apparently my kids will not stop growing!  We were able to get some new clothes and little fighting between them happened.  Good day!

Thursday Erik was off so we decided to go to Marcy's Clayground and have the kids paint some pottery.  We had been there before and Ethan picked out a cat and Emma picked out an owl to paint.  It was really cute and they loved being creative!  I will pick up the final products this week!

Friday we had more errands with Erik but then we went to open swim at the Westerville Rec Center.  However it was a "wee" bit crowded but within an hour, many people were leaving so it was a little easier to swim.  The kids had fun with Erik and I both swimming with them.  Emma found a dance friend to swim with for a little while too.

The rest of the weekend we hung out, did errands and played games!  It was nice to relax for a little while before we have to go back to work, school and sports!  So maybe we did not go to a warmer climate but we did have fun and make lots of memories!  Because I know someday probably sooner than later, my kids will want to hang out more with their friends than me so I am soaking it up NOW!
